Want To Be Popular? Get Busy with YouTube Channels

You think that all you need to do to make your video go viral and be watched hundreds of thousands of times is simply upload it to YouTube?

If you think that, you’re (mostly) wrong.

You have to search optimize your video. What does that mean? It means you must give it a title; preferably one that’s interesting and makes a viewer want to click ‘play’. You also have to give a description (Don’t forget to do this). You must also add keywords that describe your video.

You should also set up a YouTube channel. Why? To get YouTube friends to send you their videos and they get your videos when you upload them. Why is that important? Your YouTube friends (usually) will watch your videos, whereas your Facebook friends usually will not.

In addition, if you have a YouTube channel, viewers can subscribe to your videos so they get the newest and latest video from you: ‘The amazing lawyer on video’. This adds to your ability to upload once and have your video distributed to at least 5 people (I’m kidding about the number; feel the humor- work with me here). Being able to subscribe to a channel is great.

***Here’s a really useful tip…If you want to see what your competition is doing with their videos, you can ethically learn when he or she puts their next video online. How? SUBSCRIBE to his video channel!*** Then, if you’re really bold, and you should be, post his video on YOUR blog, with a blog post about how good his video is. This will usually get you a surprising “Thank you” from your competitor and other benefits that I’ll talk about in another article.

So…you want to be popular? Create your YouTube channel today.
