Lawyers: Can You Ethically Guarantee a Client Anything?

The answer: Nothing. If I am a client, that would not be a very satisfying answer no matter what legal issue or problem I had. Obviously, no lawyer can guarantee a particular outcome even with a good case. But think about how an online viewer searching for an attorney would love to hear about guarantees that you can make to reassure them that you are confident and capable of guiding them through the legal minefield known as litigation. Continue reading

8 Reasons Why Attorney Video is Not For You

WARNING: This list is not for the thin-skinned or faint-hearted lawyer. 1. You don't know why you should. 2. Nobody would want to watch you anyway (except your family). 3. You're lazy. 4. You like the # of calls you're getting from the yellow pages. 5. You have no desire to market yourself on the internet. 6. It's beneath you to talk about what you do on camera. 7. You don't look good, and have a radio face. 8. You don't sound good and would rather pay 'talent' to appear for you. This list is for those attorneys who fail to take action when presented with the opportunity to dominate their area of law. Continue reading

Attorneys: Here’s a List of Web Video Companies You Need To Know About

In order to find a web video company to produce your lawyer video you typically have to do an extensive Google search or click on one of the banner ads that these companies use to promote their services. I decided instead to post a comprehensive list of web video companies, as a resource, for lawyers to use. In the near future I may post reviews of each of these video production companies, but for right now, here's a list- in no particular order. By the way, before deciding to call any of these companies, I strongly encourage you to read my article "9 Questions You Must Ask Before Choosing a Video Production Company." Continue reading

Bob Battle’s Testimonial of New York Attorney Gerry Oginski

If you don't know Bob Battle, you should. Bob is a DUI attorney in Virginia who is an amazing lawyer and marketer of his legal services. He's a solo practitioner, just like me. I had a chance to talk to Bob after I presented a lecture to a great group of attorneys at MILOfest (Macs in Law Office) seminar in Orlando, Florida last weekend. I was talking about why creating video for lawyers is so important to market their law practice. Bob was kind enough to express his thoughts about me and my presentation in this short video, which in reality is a wonderful testimonial by Bob. Thank you Bob, for taking the time to tell us what you thought about my presentation. Continue reading

If You Could Get More Clients While You Sleep, Would You Think it was Hype?

A title like that definitely sounds too good to be true. But it's not, when you set up a legal marketing system that works for you 24 hours a day seven days a week. In this e-mail I'm not going to sell you anything. Nor am I going to convince you to create attorney video. Rather, I'm going to educate you about the benefits of creating video to educate your potential clients. Once you recognize the true benefits of creating an ongoing series of videos you will soon realize that the title of this article is true. If you create educational and informational video you will clearly do something that 98% of other attorneys are not doing today on the Internet. You already know that I am a big proponent of creating useful information for potential clients who are looking for an attorney online. Continue reading

Video Marketing for Lawyers: Does Your Video Co. Blog About Your Video?

You've created content for your video. You shot your video. Your video production company edited your video and now it's finalized and ready to be posted to the video sharing sites. They also agreed to post it to your website...for free! Do they now say "Have a nice day?" Did your video production company agree to optimize your video so the search engines would index it and make it easy to find? Or did they say "Have a nice day?" Maybe they offered you an ala carte menu where you could pick and choose their video services. If you wanted to have your video search optimized, you'd have to pay extra. Hmm. Continue reading

Testimonials

I think we shot at least 50 videos in one day, which to me was amazing. That was probably the thing I was most nervous about when you said we were going to shoot 50 videos, I thought we would be here until midnight and it’s well short of midnight when we finished. So I’m really pleased with the amount of work that we got done in one day.
I would say call Gerry. He’ll spend the time with you on the phone to talk to you about what he does. It’s not a hard sell.
