How to Establish Credibility in an Attorney Video

  • You can’t do it with content that you’d see in a TV commercial.
  • You can’t do it by copying other attorneys.
  • You can’t do it by talking about yourself and your credentials.

Some lawyers and video companies would disagree with that last statement.

Guess what?

When those video companies try to sell you on ‘their’ style of video, ask them specifically how many videos they have created have generated calls. They’ll say “I’m sure some of them have.”

Don’t take that as gospel. Ask them to prove it.

Then, ask them…of the videos they have created, how many have generated calls that resulted in valid cases that generated profit for the law firm. They’ll say “I’m sure some of them have.”

Don’t take that as gospel. Ask them to prove it.

Then, ask them how much of an attorney’s fee was generated from someone who came to them because of a video they created. They won’t be able to answer.

Just the other day, one of my Lawyers Video Studio alumni, Greg Stokes, a really smart Atlanta personal injury attorney told me he settled a case for half a million dollars.

I said “Congratulations.”

He said, “It’s a testament to you and what you did for me. You see, this gentleman came to me as a direct result of a video you created for me.”

That put a smile on my face. No other testimonial was needed. The result he achieved spoke for itself. As we attorneys say “Res Ipsa Loquitor”… the thing speaks for itself.

Want to know how to develop credibility that gets a viewer to pick up the phone and call?

  • It’s how you present your material.
  • It’s what you present.
  • It shows how you’re different.

I guarantee that it’s not your credentials and what motivated you to become an attorney…that’s not what generates trust and compels a viewer to call.

If any of those things resonate with you because you have inadvertently done them, you need your videos fixed…now. Reach out to me and let me help you fix them.

I can’t fix them or help you create new ones unless you call. I can’t read your mind. You need to take the first step and call me. 516-487-8207.

I found Gerry’s approach to be a common sense approach to… what people are looking for. It’s not necessarily what we think our video should be, it’s really what people are searching for. Gerry’s made a study of how people search the web and what they need from lawyers and then he’s able to communicate that on video. That’s what I really found intriguing: the methodology by which we shoot the videos and the way that he communicates that methodology.
