Anyone who tells you it is easy to create lawyer marketing videos is lying

I see advertisements and e-mail sequences geared to attorneys focusing on two targeted issues:

  1. Being the lowest cost provider and
  2. Showing you how easy and simple it is to create video.

It’s easy to market yourself as the lowest cost video guy. Lawyers like to focus on price without recognizing all that’s not being provided.

Attorneys who fall into the trap of hiring the lowest cost video company, are doing a disservice to themselves, their law firm and their families.

The key questions that you need to ask every low-cost provider is:

  • How many of the videos you created for attorneys have generated calls?
  • Of those calls, how many generated valid cases?
  • Of those valid cases, how many generated profit to your law firm?

See if your lowest-cost video provider can answer any of those questions successfully.

If they can’t, why would you hire someone who has no proven track record of creating great educational video that has worked?

The next issue  I see come up often is that some video providers claim how easy it is to create video.

I will tell you a secret…I have been one of those video marketers who have said that as well. I have created marketing messages that told attorneys know how simple and easy it is to create video with me in the Lawyers Video Studio.

Unfortunately, there is no simple “easy button” to create video.

One of the most common frustrations I see repeatedly is that video companies who tell the attorneys it’s simple and easy, the attorneys are frustrated with trying to create ideas for their own content.

When you don’t know how to do this and have never done it before, it is clearly not easy to come up with the ideas to make great compelling video.

It is certainly not easy to create a compelling message when you have no guidance and no strategy on how to do this.

There is nothing easy about coming up with content that gets your viewers excited, interested and engaged in what you have to say.  This takes tremendous effort and energy. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

That’s why it is so important that attorneys who participate in my video programs get on a brainstorming call with me known as a mastermind call to discuss how to come up with content, how to create a compelling message, what to do and what not to do.

There is no other video company in the country that helps attorneys do this, one lawyer to another. None.

Anyone who tells you this is easy, has never done it themselves. Anyone who tells you otherwise has never done it for other attorneys successfully.

When you are looking to hire a video company to create your great educational attorney video, ask them how many videos they have created that have generated clients and net profit to their video company. The answer will shock you. I guarantee you that no one has ever asked them that question. Except you.

The answers you obtain from these low-cost video providers will hopefully open your eyes to recognize that by hiring the lowest cost video provider, you are doing yourself and your law firm a significant disservice.

What I’d like to see next are the same low-cost video providers taking the information in this blog post and now creating a marketing message that says

“Creating video is really hard. We help you make it easy. We’re the cheapest guys in town and have no experience with creating videos that generate valid calls and profit to law firms.”
