Stokes & Kopitsky, P.A.
“Uh, what do you want me to talk about?” asked the attorney.
“Let me tell you all about me and my law firm…” said the lawyer.
“Welcome to my website. Here is the ‘about us’ section, here is the biographical section, here are our many practice areas…”
“Today, I’m going to explain how we care about you. How we fight for your rights. How we’ve been in business for 60 combined years. Oh yes, we also have free parking…”
“Today I’m going to answer a FAQ that I often get…”
You can’t just start spouting off the top of your head if you have not planned your attorney video content beforehand.
You need to prepare. You need to practice. You need to go through how you open your video, how to close your video, how long your video will be and much more.
I have spoken to many lawyers across the country who have created video with “regular” video production companies. I often ask them what was the process like when you were getting ready to shoot your attorney videos.
The more experienced video companies told the lawyer to come up with some frequently asked questions and answers. They gave some brief examples.
Others however simply left up to the attorney to figure out what to talk about.
None of them had a one-hour mastermind call with an experienced attorney who helps other lawyers create video to market their law firms online like I do with my Lawyers Video Studio clients.
I asked those attorneys how they felt after shooting their attorney videos.
Every one of them had the same reaction.
They all felt that they were ill-prepared to create great quality attorney videos.
This has nothing to do with the technical ability of these video companies. It had to do with planning and production. It had to do with having an experienced video producer understand what type of content you need to create. It had to do with having an experienced attorney help you create content.
If your video producer does not know who your ideal clients are and what key legal issues they face on a daily basis, how then can they possibly help you create content that will get them interested in what you have to say?
If you simply want video company that yells “Action!” and puts your video up online, then continue doing what you’re doing.
However, if you want a video marketing company with the only practicing trial attorney in the country who helps other lawyers create video to market their law firms online using video, I encourage you to give me a call. 1-800-320-4314 or leave an email for my production manager: Kathleen@lawyersvideostudio.com, and she’ll be happy to set up a call for you.
