1. Your mother will call you telling you you’re famous!
It’s true. What parent wouldn’t kvell (a Jewish term of happiness) about seeing their child all over the internet- in a good way.
2. Your spouse or significant other will tell all of their friends that you’re famous.
See reason #1 above.
3. Potential clients get to know you.
This is very important. The only way someone will be willing to start a conversation with you is if they know you. If you only have a cold, static website with no interaction, a viewer will not be interested and they’ll have a large obstacle to calling you.
4. Potential clients get to hear you, see you and begin to trust you without ever having walked in your door.
Can it get any better than this? You don’t even have to meet with prospective clients in order to explain to them that you really know what you’re talking about. Video allows you to show your expertise and give a viewer a preview of how you can help solve problems.
5. You get to watch your video over and over, thereby increasing the # of views that YouTube tallies.
This one’s just silly. I strongly advise you not to watch your own videos repeatedly, unless you really like watching and listening to yourself.
6. You become an expert in the minds of your prospective clients.
If a viewer sees you talking authoritatively about your area of law, you become ‘the expert’. Nobody has to proclaim you as an expert to be authoritative, nor do you ever have to say explicitly “I’m an expert.” Educational video allows you to express yourself and let viewers see ‘what you got’.
7. If your viewers perceive you as an expert, then you must be an expert.
Here’s a little secret not many people know. You don’t have to be the best lawyer in your State in order to know what you’re doing. You can be really good at what you do and still be perceived as an expert. Remember, you must be honest and truthful in your advertising. You can explain how your experience with specific cases allows you to talk with authority about that area of law. You know the case law. You know how the facts apply to the cases. Now use your video to show your viewers that you know what you’re talking about.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.
