Lawyer Video: How Many Times Are Your Videos Watched? Does it Matter?

You upload your video to YouTube and every day watch to see how many people have viewed your videos. You look to see if there are any comments. You eagerly wait to see if anyone will rate your video. The real question is: “Does any of that matter?”

The answer, most likely, is “No.”

Why not? This is not a popularity contest to see who can make their video go viral and have their video watched hundreds of thousands of times. As an attorney, it is unlikely your educational video will go viral. The point is that your video is geared toward your ideal client.

Viewers looking for a funny video or an amazing human interest story are not going to find it in your video. Once you get past that realization, you recognize that the only people you really want watching your videos are viewers with legal problems looking for an attorney to help solve their problems. That’s why the number of times your video is watched is meaningless.

If ten people watched your video and those ten people called you for more information and some of them became your clients, that’s what you want! Don’t be swayed by some video production company telling you that your videos will be watched thousands of times. First, they can’t guarantee that. Second, it makes no difference unless all those viewers are looking for an attorney with your expertise, which again, is unlikely.
